Victor Piturca was born in Orodel, Dolj County, on May 8, 1956. He was a striker, he was capped 13 times for national team and he scored 2 times.

Piturca won the Romanian Championship with Steaua five times and the Romanian Cup four times. At the end of the 1987-88 season he was the top scorer of Liga I and won UEFA's Bronze Boot.

In 1992 he starts his career as coach. Among the teams he coached we can remind Steaua Bucuresti, Universitatea Craiova and National Team U-21. For the moment he manages Romania National Team.
