He was born on the 9th of October 1950 in Iasi and played as a goalkeeper. He was capped 25 times at the national team and participated at the EURO 1984.

As a trainer he was part of the technical team of Steaua Bucharest, Universitatea Craiova, FC National Bucharest and Politehnica Timisoara. He won the European Super Cup, the Romanian Championship, the Emirates Cup and the UAE Championship.
