Bogdan Stelea was born in Strehaia on the 22nd of June in 1958. He is a goalkeeper, having been capped 91 times for the national team. He was part of the Golden Generation of the Romaian football, participating at the World Cups in 1990, 1994 and 1998 and at the EURO 1996 and 2000.

He won 4 Romanian Championships and 2 Romanian Cups.
