Raul Gonzalez was born in Madrid on June 27, 1977 and plays as a striker. He has been capped 102 times for the national team and scored 44 times. He participated to the European Championships in 2000 and 2004 and to the World Cups in 1998, 2002 and 2006.
He is the winner of the Spanish La Liga in 1995, 1997, 2001, 2003, 2007, 2008, of the Spanish Super Cup 1997, 2001 and 2003, of the UEFA Champions League in 1998, 2000 and 2002, of the European Super Cup in 2002 and of the Intercontinental Cup in 1998 and 2002.
In the season 2003-2004 he has been given the Spanish Award for the top scorer, he was named the Spanish Player of the Year in the season 1996-1997. In 2000, 2001 and 2002 he was awarded with the title UEFA Club Football Best Forward. In 1998 at the Intercontinental Cup he was named the Man of the Match and in 1999 he was named by IFFHS the World Goalgetter. |
