Mircea Lucescu was born in Bucharest on the 29th of June in 1945 and played as a striker. He was capped 70 times for the national team and scored 9 goals, participating at the World Cup in Mexico in 1970.

He was 7 times Champion of Romania and won the Romanian Cup with Dinamo.
As a coach he won 2 Romanian Championships, 2 Turkish Championships and 2 Ukrainian Championships.
