Rui Jorge was born in Vila Nova de Gaia, on March 27, 1973. He was a left defender, and he was capped 44 times for the Portugal National team, scoring once.
Among his honors are the title of national champion with Sporting Clube de Portugal in 2005, he represented his country at Euro 2000, in World Cup 2002 and at Euro 2004.
