Ilie Balaci was born in Bistret (Dolj County) on the 13th of September, in 1956. His position was midfielder. For the National Team he playede in 69 matches and scored 8 goals.
During his career as a professional football player he won 3 Romanian Championships with Universitatea Craiova in 1970, 1980 and 1981. He was also awarded the title of the “Best Romanian Football Player” in 1981 and 1982.
As a coach he trained Drobeta Tr. Severin, Club African Tunisia, Olimpique Casablanca, Al Shabab, Al Nassr Riad, Al Hilal, Universitatea Craiova, Al Sadd and Al Ahly.
His coaching career achievements include the following titles and distinctions:
