GHEROGHE HAGI

Gheorghe Hagi was born on the 5th of February 1965 at Sacele, Constanta County. He is also called “the King” of the Romanian football. Hagi is the best Romanian football player of all time and a symbol of Romania. He started his career at 18 years old and was capped 122 times for the national team, scoring 35 goals and leading the team as a captain in 65 matches. He played at the 3 World Cups (1990, 1994, 1998) and 3 European Championships (1984, 1996, 2000). On the 24th of April 2001, Gheorghe Hagi retired from the national team and in his last game had 80.000 fans in the stadium from all over the world.
 
He won the European Super Cup, 4 Romanian Championships, 2 Romanian Cups, the UEFA Cup, 4 Turkish Championships, 2 Turkish Cups and one Turkish Super Cup.

As a coach he evolved for the national team of Romania, Burasaspor, Galatasaray Istambul (with whom he won the Turkis Super Ligue), FCU Politehnica Timisoara and Steaua Bucuresti.
