Rui Costa was born in Lisboan, Portugal, on March 29, 1972, and plays as a midfielder. He was capped 94 times for the national team and scored 26 times. He played for his country at the 2002 World Cup, Euro 2002 and Euro 2004.
He also won with the Portuguese under-20 national team the World Youth Championship.
In 2003 Costa won the Champions Cup and the European Super Cup with Milan and in 2004 he won the Italian Super Cup. In 1994 he won with Benfica the Championship, the Cup and the Super Cup in Portugal.
